Our Pastor
With the ministry of the previous pastor ending in May 2006, it was made known over in Northern Ireland at the beginning of 2006, that prayer should be offered to God to prepare someone to come over to Port Lincoln and continue the work as soon as possible.
Knowing the need, and beginning to pray about the matter, Armen Thomassian (a member of Hebron FPC) received clear indications that going to Australia was what God wanted him to do, Acts 8:26 “Arise, and go toward the south.”
As he read the Word of God, he received many promises that this indeed was the will of God. A few of the most prominent promises were 1 Cor 1:27-30, Exodus 3:12 “Certainly I will be with thee” and Joshua 1:9 “be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee withersoever thou goest.”
Eventually after much patient waiting, Armen arrived in Port Lincoln with his wife Melanie on 3rd January 2007 to begin labouring for the Lord on the Eyre Peninsula.
He is 24, and he accepted Christ as his Saviour on 13th May 2002 aged 19. Admiting that the desire fluctuates at times, he confesses that his chief aim is to live for the Saviour who gave everything for him that he might be saved, and have an eternal home in Heaven.
